Make this incredibly moist and flaky Honey Garlic Butter Baked Salmon. This easy recipe delivers restaurant-quality flavor in under 30 minutes, making it the perfect quick and healthy weeknight salmon dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for simple cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt until well combined. This creates your flavorful glaze.
  4. Spoon the honey garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, spreading it to coat the surface.
  5. Place a thin slice of lemon on top of each fillet, if desired.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. For thicker fillets, check at 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve immediately. This is the best baked salmon for a quick dinner.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, you can broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes to slightly caramelize the glaze, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • If you prefer a crispier top, you can skip the lemon slices and sprinkle a tablespoon of panko breadcrumbs over the glaze before baking.
  • This recipe is excellent for salmon meal prep; simply store cooked portions in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
