A simple, high-protein lasagna using cottage cheese for a budget-friendly and delicious family dinner.

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, egg, garlic powder, basil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Layer noodles, meat sauce, cottage cheese mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
