A quick and easy oven-baked tilapia recipe with a flavorful garlic butter and lemon sauce. This flaky fish is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs tilapia fillets
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and cook for another minute. Remove from heat.
  5. Place the tilapia fillets in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the garlic butter sauce evenly over the tilapia.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your fillets.
  8. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a side salad for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce.
  • Ensure your tilapia is cooked through but not overcooked to maintain its flaky texture.
