- 2 sushi-grade ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
- Mix sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Coat the tuna steaks with the marinade and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat.
- Sear the tuna for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer if desired.
- Slice and serve immediately.
