Traditional Scandinavian butter cookies with a melt-in-your-mouth texture, perfect for holiday baking and gifting.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into logs, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Slice into 1/4-inch rounds and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before serving or storing.
