This recipe delivers rich, creamy peanut butter fudge that melts in your mouth. It uses only four simple ingredients and requires no baking, making it a quick, foolproof dessert perfect for holidays or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth using an electric mixer.
  3. Add the peanut butter to the butter and mix on medium speed until fully combined and creamy. This step is key for a smooth texture.
  4. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated. Once all sugar is added, increase the speed to medium and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 1 minute. Do not overmix once the sugar is incorporated.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  6. Press the fudge mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the top surface.
  7. Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours, or until firm enough to cut.
  8. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Cut into 1-inch squares. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Sifting the powdered sugar prevents lumps and helps you achieve that smooth texture users seek in the best peanut butter fudge.
  • Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest result. Natural, oily peanut butter may require slight adjustments to the butter amount.
  • For a glossy finish, you can melt 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and spread a thin layer over the set fudge before cutting.
  • This recipe is excellent for holiday peanut butter treats and makes a wonderful gift.
